October Book Club

Join our Morning Star Book Club at 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 6 in the Fireside Room. We will discuss the book “The Covenant of Water” by Abraham Verghese.  
Phil Potratz will lead the discussion.  

Here is a brief description of our October book:
Over the course of three generations, two seemingly disparate, deeply connected narratives unfold in an ode to India, family, and medical marvels. Spanning the years 1900-1977, the novel follows three generations of a Christian family in Kerala, South India, that suffers a a peculiar affliction: in every generation, at least one person dies by drowning. This novel is an unforgettable and stunning epic of love, faith, and medicine. 

We start each Book Club with fellowship and a potluck!  Please bring some food to share with our group.  We sometimes coordinate and tie the food into the theme of the book -- not required, simply a fun thing to do if you feel so inclined :) Please bring a neighbor or friend. We welcome all!
