Benefits of a Self-Study (Accreditation)
What do you see when you look into a mirror? The answer may be different for each of us. What do people see when they look at you? The answer always lies in the eyes of the beholder. You may get ten different answers. But when you collect all the information, you end up with a completely different perspective of yourself. This may make you satisfied with your looks or enable you to make changes based on those reflections.
What does Morning Star see when we look into a mirror? The answer will certainly be different for each of us. We see a school. Now we see a church and school. We see parts of our ministry that are functioning well. We see areas of our ministry where more attention is needed. When we collect all these reflections of Morning Star, we begin to build a picture of our mission and purpose. Accreditation for our school gives us just that. We see our reflection. We have documented proof that we are meeting the state requirements of a quality education in the state of Wisconsin. We strive to strengthen our school by affirming what we are doing well. We work to improve our weaknesses. How do you benefit from accreditation? Our Heavenly Father would have us be good stewards of the blessings he has given us. As a member of Morning Star, you are a blessing to our ministry. You gain an appreciation for the school and the education that is provided. You grow using your gifts of time, talents, and treasures to provide the opportunities for the Holy Spirit to nurture the faith of those students whom we serve. Now you can help by giving the gift of service. We need all members to be a part of this self-study. It would be a blessing to have 5 or more members serving on each of the standards committees. That would be a total needed of 65+ people. The more people we have serving means we can keep the committees from having to take more than one standard. Right now we have around twenty people committed to serving on a committee. Please consider signing up to serve on a committee, to bless our school and congregation through this self-study/accreditation process! “Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalm 103:2, NIV — Give thanks to God for our Morning Star ministry.
