Deb is Morning Star's 2nd grade teacher, chimes director, and Art Fair coordinator. She helps with the Accelerated Reader Program and Athletic Director duties. She is inspired in her teaching responsibilities by the words of Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." (NIV)

Deb graduated from Dr. Martin Luther college in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and has since earned Early Childhood Certification from the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Deb has served at Morning Star since 2002 and has a total of 20 years of teaching experience:

5 years at St. Luke's, Oakfield, WI - Grades 1-4
1 year in Northfield, MN, in an early childhood center
2 years at St. Paul's, Cannon Falls, MN - Preschool
2 years at Peace, Hartford, WI - 6th grade and extended education - while also at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, Jackson, WI - Learning Center
2 years at Calvary, Thiensville, WI - Grades 2-4
9 years at Morning Star.
